The leaf on the right appears to catch and hold all the sunlight in this shot.I'm off to Connecticut for the weekend, so we'll see what kind of photos I can take there. It's been alternating between cold and rainy in Chicago, but the tulips look like they are determined to flower anyway. So I should get some shots of those soon!
...and it still looks crooked.
These were scattered all over a hilly field of grass at the Chicago Botanic Garden. So inviting and lovely!
Stone wall, wooden bench, budding leaves.
What a difference a few days can make! It's still unseasonably cold, but it's not enough to stop spring from appearing altogether at the Botanic Garden. I think I've got enough photos from Sunday's trip to last me all week. Hurray!

They're only predicting an inch or so, but it's still coming down hard and fast, so who knows?Anyway, now I think you can understand why there haven't been any new spring flower photos yet. ;-)
My apologies for not posting in, wow, a week. Between the unseasonably cold weather, the complete lack of spring due to said cold weather, and the fatigue from the long hours I've been putting in at my paying job, the creativity has sadly been drained away from me for the time being. I do have this entire weekend coming up off, and I have plans to drive to a couple of my favorite state parks and see what's budding. Hopefully that will inspire me again.Until then, here is one of my favorite flowers from last spring, the green-dotted snowdrop.
From last spring at the Chicago Botanic Garden. I can't wait to see what it looks like this year!

A couple extra views of the bridge I shot in Middletown, Connecticut, last December. Something about the dreariness of the steel in front of the changing sky reminds me of the cloudy skies we have outside today.
The April selection available on this year's calendar. In related news, the grass is turning green now, and the trees are just beginning to bud, no doubt encouraged to do so by the soft rains we've been having this weekend. Won't be long now before I'll be posting flower photos from this year instead of the ones from last spring.
